How To Prep Your Hair For Winter

You change your wardrobe and skincare for winter–but do you switch up your hair routine?❄️💙

Winter Hair Care

Winter is coming.

Bring on cosy nights in, mulled wine, chunky knit sweaters and SNOW!

But winter can be brutal on our hair. The cold-weather makes our hair lose a ton of moisture and leaves it dry and dull while low humidity makes it susceptible to breakage. Ouch. Not to mention hats and scarves becoming our wardrobe staples and getting the occasional hat hair…

Don’t let winter ruin your perfect hair game. Here are our 5 winter hair care tips.

1. Hydrate and moisturize… A LOT💧 Nourish hair and combat winter dryness by switching to moisturizing masks (hello, Sunday night masking in front of the TV!). Our 911 Quinoa Hair Mask is SERIOUSLY indulgent and hydrating.

2. Moisturize your hair brush too

Thin or flat hair can get oily or greasy easily. For oil-prone hair, deep condition your hairbrush instead with 911 Quinoa Oil Hair Treatment or Quinoa Serum instead of using a rich mask. When you brush your hair you’ll get extra moisture and shine. ✨

3. Take it easy with the blowouts and switch up your hairdo instead Blow dryers and heated tools can be brutal on your hair year-round, but in the winter especially. All that dryness results in split ends and breakage. Go easy on your locks by towel-drying hair first, and then applying 007 Keratin Hair Repair or Serum, or go for styles that use no heated tools such as braids, buns and ponytails.

4. Tame the frizz Hair that gets frizzy gets even frizzier come the colder months. Not fair, we know. Tame the frizz by using Proactive Frizz Control from our 69 Curly Hair collection.

5. Lay off the HOT water 🔥

It’s so tempting to get into a steaming hot bath or shower when it’s freezing outside.

But it can lead to dry, itchy scalps in winter. Treat your hair delicately this season–like

it’s cashmere!
